When do you feel most in tune with yourself and your body?
For me, that time is when I am alone in my room doing my daily yoga. Moving my body with intention, focusing on the breath moving in and out of my lungs. When I am in tune with myself I feel my surroundings melt away and finally feel my true inner peace emerge. I feel peace wash over me knowing that I am completely safe, mentally, physically and emotionally. I love knowing that I am my own safe space. I love being able to create that physical and mental environment where I know I can and will thrive. It has taken me many years of work to recognize that I needed such a space and to become that space for myself as well as for others.
Having a safe space I believe is essential to our wellbeing. Although I one hundred percent know that we should be our own safe place it is equally as important to have something outside of ourselves wether a person or place where we feel equally as safe. It may take time but it is totally worth the wait. In the meantime focus on being your own safe space as well as lending yourself to the possibility of being a safe space for someone else.
