I want to go back

I want to go back to the simpler times when I was learning to ride a bike with two wheels, when naïveté was a part of my life.

I want to go back to the time when my hardest day included multiplication homework. When I thought my problems could not possibly get worse.

I want to go back to the time when my greatest fear was failing math class or going to the doctor.

I want to go back to the days of looking forward to learning to drive and getting a new book from the library to finish in a day.

I want to go back to before the true weight of life was placed on my shoulders.

I don’t really want to back though. I am proud of you who I am and how much work I have done to get to where I am.

It’s just rough out here. Being an adult is not all it’s cracked up to be! Ha! But I guess we all know that!

There are aspects of adulthood that I would never in a million years give up but there are fears, anxieties and mountains of responsibilities that I could do without. Couldn’t we all?

What if being an adult was exactly like being a child just with the ability to drive and get into clubs? Of course without school as well! That would be a dream! What if all we had to do was use our imagination, eat and get enough sleep?

No need for money, no responsibility of paying bills or going to work, just us our imagination and endless time on our hands.

What would you do?
