I was scrolling through Instagram and had a random thought. “What 5 things would I want to have with me on a deserted island.” I know, such an important dilemma. Anyway, surprisingly it did not take me very long to come up with those 5 things.
- A Journal. Um duh…I am a writer and compulsive journaler. I must have an outlet for all these words and thoughts crashing around in my brain.
- A Pen. I counted the pen and journal as two separate things because well. they are and I felt like I was cheating if I counted them as one. The reason I need a pen is self-explanatory.
- Toilet Paper. This may be TMI but I REFUSE to use an unknown species of plant to well you know…also I do not know enough about plants to know which are safe and which would leave me with a rash!
- Sunscreen. Again this is probably self-explanatory.
- My Meds. I had to put this on the list because well I would actually probably die without them…and I mean that in a completely literal sense. When you have a congenital heart defect and you are placed on meds right from birth you can not really decide not to take them. Trust me, I have seen what happens…it is not good.
Well, that is my list. I am pretty happy with my choices. I think I covered all my bases. Of course I would also pick things like, a plane or a boat to escape the island but those choices are usually off limits in these kinds of scenarios. I went with the basics. The bare minimum. I of course hope that this will never become more than a hypothetical, which I am sure it will not. But never say never right? But it better be never because I am not built for such an adventure. I am all for an adventure just not one of this genre.
What would your five choices be? Let me know in the comments and leave a like if you approve of my picks!
