Elysian fields of lavender sprawled out before her, the soft blue sky filled with cotton like clouds. The sun baked her skin, darkening her splatter of freckles as she breathed in the light balsamic scent of the purple sea. She closed her eyes listening to the chirping songs of the birds gliding on the cool breeze. Her yellow sundress rippled softly as she wiggled her bare feet in the soft grass. She had dreamed of this moment all day. A moment of peace and harmony between her and the earth. A moment of quiet to appreciate nature. Serenity rushed over her like a wave, confirming that this is what life is about. Finding peace in the little things and allowing herself to be consumed by nature and all its beauty.
I recently downloaded an app Daily Prompt that gives you writing prompts as a way to develop your skills. This was my first post. The prompt words were: Elysian, Splatter, and Lavender. I admit I had to look up the definition of “Elysian!”
